It was not the Labor Day weekend that I expected! It began with learning that my Grandmother Richardson was not doing well and that initiated a trip Friday evening to visit her at The Manor nursing home in Morrisville. It was bittersweet to be able to see her but tough to say good-bye. When we got home I began to feel sick. I woke up Saturday morning feeling like I had been run over by a truck - fever, achy, sore throat, upset stomach - yuck! Of all mornings to wake up early...Joseph picked today! Matt was great and let me sleep. He took Joseph grocery shopping and then headed off to camp on Lake Champlain for the day with Joseph and the dogs (we generally spend the summer holiday weekends at camp with family). They had a great time while I stayed home and got some much needed sleep/rest!
Sunday I continued to rest and we spent some time outside since the sun was shining. On Labor Day we ended up going back to the nursing home to visit my Grandmother again. I am so thankful that we were able to make the trip again because that night my Grandmother passed away. I love her and will miss her terribly but I am rejoicing that she is in heaven with Jesus and is free of all pain!
