On Friday morning we set off on an adventure (a long weekend away)! We went to Portsmouth, NH.
We stayed at the beautiful Sise Inn in a large suite. Our weekend started off by Matt treating me to a massage at the Portsmouth Spa while he and Joseph explored the streets of Portsmouth. We then went to Kittery, ME to do a little outlet shopping.
After our shopping excursion, we went to the Olive Garden and got a take out dinner because anyone with a toddler knows that this is more enjoyable than going out to dinner.
Saturday my parents joined us at the Children's Museum of NH where Joseph enjoyed exploring the exhibits.
By far Joseph's favorite exhibit was the huge train track.
Playing bongo drums with Grammie.
When you touched the shapes on this wall they made musical sounds - very cool!
Later that day we headed to Hampton Beach to pick up Matt's bib for the Half at the Hampton's race that he would be running on Sunday.
We then spent a few hours back at the Inn relaxing and of course Joseph is watching a Thomas The Train DVD.
For dinner we went to Newick's Restaurant for a family friendly meal.
Sunday was race day for Matt!
He ran the half marathon 13.1 miles in 1:41:50 shaving a full two minutes off his time at last years race and setting a personal best for himself! Good job Matt!
After the race we headed home and our adventure came to an end. We had such a fun adventure and can't wait for many more.
A special thank you to Mom and Dad Curtis for taking such good care of our dogs while we were away!
