Potato Picking

Once a year a farm in Williamstown, VT has a "pick your own potatoes" day and growing up we were forced expected to help pick potatoes, no matter what the weather...rain, wind, even snow (right, Lisa?)!  Well, the tradition has continued in my family.  We went last year but Joseph had a terrible cold so he was asleep and he and I stayed in the car (believe me I was happy to not have to help Matt pick the potatoes).  This year it was a family event!  Of course Joseph fell asleep on the way to the farm so he was rather grumpy when we woke him up and told him it was time to help pick potatoes.  He made potato picking a challenge because he wanted to be held (and he only put one potato in the bucket).  The potatoes are now rinsed off and drying in the sun.  In the end we picked 124 pounds of potatoes for $37.00 and the potatoes will last us until next summer.
