Heart Painting

Our project today was in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday.  We painted (Joseph's first time) and used a toilet paper roll as a heart stamp.  We had a lot of fun and it was surprisingly not as messy as I was expecting (well until I handed Joseph the glitter)!

Two super simple "recipes"...

Homemade Paint:  Combine flour, water and a few drops of food coloring to create your desired paint consistency.  This could not be more simple and it doesn't stain - yay!

Toilet Paper Roll Heart Stamp:  Take an empty toilet paper roll and squish it in half to create two creases.  Open up the roll and fold one of the creases inward to create the shape of a heart.  Place a piece of tape around the roll to hold it's shape.  Dip in paint for a heart shaped stamp.

In anticipation of a potentially messy project me removed all clothing except a diaper.

He even painted the paintbrushes!
Glitter is fun, Ma! Yes, Joseph has taken to calling me "Ma" too cute!
Joseph's Masterpieces...one is a little heavy on the glitter! : )
